Daniel Mendez

As a graphic designer and illustrator, Daniel Méndez creates eco-friendly products like sketchbooks and agendas, using sustainable paper materials and personalizing them with his illustrations. Growing up in Sogamoso, Daniel was fascinated by the indigenous Muisca ancestors of the region, a theme that often inspires his artwork.

His studio, Taller Mwiska, was named to honor the ancestors of the Cundiboyacense territory, with a focus on nature and environmental responsibility. He draws influence from artists like Alfredo Vivero, who explores indigenous mythology, and comic artists James Jean and Moebius. Daniel believes in showcasing Colombia's cultural diversity and aims to make a meaningful environmental impact through his creations.
