Handcrafted by artisans in Boyacá, Colombia

Sumercé Artisans x Kiva
We are thrilled to announce that Sumercé Artisans has been approved for a Kiva Loan! This marks a significant milestone in our efforts to build a sustainable organization that supports the incredible artisans of Boyacá.
When our loan goes public on Kiva.org, we’ll gain the support of 2 million lenders and partners worldwide. But we can’t get there without your support during this critical initial stage. Visit our Kiva profile to learn more.
Fair Trade in Small Batches
Our artisan partners take pride in what they do. Each handcrafted product represents generations of knowledge and skill and a lifetime of love and commitment by the artisans. We establish lifelong relationships with our artisans, and operate in small batch productions with the proceeds going back into their community.
Environmental Projects
We work with nature, not against it. Our products are not mass-produced in a factory, and our independent artisans take care in sustainable production practices. In collaboration with Fundación Montecito, 10% of the proceeds fund environmental and education programs within the communities around Lake Tota.
Prints with Purpose
Our Prints with Purpose initiative makes it easy for photographers, painters, and other artists in Sugamuxi to continue doing what they love. Every digital artwork is printed and packaged by Sumercé Artisans, and allows our artists to earn passive income and expand their market abroad.

Our Little Free Library - Charter #194762
Designed to capture the charm of a traditional Colombian finca, our Little Free Library at Sumercé Artisans draws inspiration from the villages of Boyacá, especially Monguí. With its whitewashed walls, crimson and green accents, and cobblestone details, every element reflects the warmth and character of Colombian architecture. The hand-tiled terracotta roof is just one of many thoughtful touches, bringing a true piece of Boyacá to Wisconsin.
